I first experienced this meditation with one of my favourite yoga teachers Judy Brennan. It’s such a treat and I want to share it with you. Meditation can be fun!
You will need:
- 1 piece of guilt free dark chocolate* preferably a type you’re not familiar with
- 5 minutes of quiet when you won’t be disturbed
*Dark chocolate without any milk is thought to be good for ME/CFS! As a non-sugar eater I love Salisbury’s no added sugar dark chocolate when I’m in the UK although it does contain a milk derived ingredient.
I hope you enjoyed that. It’s a great example of how much more we could get out of the experience of eating if only we paid a bit more attention. This kind of mindfulness can really enrich our lives if we learn to apply it to every day moments! Have a look at my post on mindful eating for better digestion!
You can also find this meditation in Mark Williams and Danny Penman’s book ‘Mindfulness, a practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world’ (2011) Piatkus.
