If you’re living with an energy-limiting health condition, you may already know that wellness doesn’t always look the way the rest of the world defines it. For me, it’s not necessarily about how much I can do, but more a sense of lightness and ease in my body and the ability to feel appreciation and love. Life feels good and I can enjoy the moment.
One of my most life-changing discoveries of recent years is that joyful wellness isn’t something that we make happen physically, it’s something that we create as a spiritual and energetic being with the following 4 elements: Allowing, Belief, Balancing Desire with Gratitude, and Embodying. Today I’d like to share a few tips on achieving each of these 4 elements.
Allowing: Releasing all Resistance
We can only create joyful wellness when we are in a state of non-resistance. Simple, right? But not necessarily easy. Resistance often shows up as frustration, self-judgment, or pushing against what is. The key is to notice when resistance arises, meet it with compassion, and then gently let it go.
Allowing doesn’t mean resigning yourself to struggle. Instead, it’s about softening into the present moment and empowering yourself to choose what serves you from this moment forward. Remind yourself of the benefits of being in a state of non-resistance: more ease, less stress, and greater alignment with the energy of healing and joy.
Belief: Trusting in the Possibility of Wellness
When you’ve been living with a chronic health condition for a long time, believing in wellness can sometimes feel like a stretch. But belief is the foundation of creation—nothing can come into being without it.
The trick is to start where you are and find what you can believe. Maybe you believe in small moments of relief, in the power of rest, or in the idea that your body and spirit are always doing their best to support you. Expand that belief in small, believable increments. Surrounding yourself with a supportive community that uplifts and encourages you can make all the difference in building your belief.
Balancing Desire with Gratitude: A Powerful Energetic Practice
Your vibration is the key to manifesting joyful wellness. This means being able to imagine inspiring possibilities (desires) while also embracing gratitude for what is already present.
Desire—when free from attachment to a specific outcome—is a high vibrational state. So is gratitude. When we balance these two energies, we step into a powerful space where creation flows with ease. Dream of wellness, allow yourself to feel the excitement of possibility, and then ground it with appreciation for the joyful wellness you already experience, no matter how small.
Embodying: Becoming the Version of You That Thrives
Embodying is where everything comes together. It’s about stepping into the energy of the version of you that experiences joyful wellness—before you have all the external proof.
Ask yourself: What thoughts does this version of me have that are different from my thoughts now? What are their ways of being? How do they move through the world? Embodying can be challenging, especially if you don’t feel well in the present moment. I understand this deeply because it was once the most difficult step for me. But over time, I’ve learned how to shift into embodiment, even in small ways, and I’d love to support you in learning how to do the same.
Bringing It All Together
These four elements—Allowing, Belief, Balancing Desire with Gratitude, and Embodying—work together to create a foundation for joyful wellness, no matter where you are on your journey. You don’t have to master them all at once. Simply start where you are, take small steps, and be gentle with yourself.
Your wellness journey is uniquely yours, and you are already on the path. If you’d like more support in weaving these elements into your life, I’d love to guide you further. You are worthy of having joyful wellness come to you with ease.
